December Overview

One Thing: Jesus is our promise.

Memory Verse: But the angel said, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy”. Luke 2:10 

WEEK 1:
Hope – Matthew 1:18-2:12 
Isaiah reminds God’s people of God’s promise to send a Messiah, and Jesus—Emmanuel— fulfills the promise!  

WEEK 2: 
Peace – John 14:27
Isaiah shares the promise that Jesus will come as a light to God’s people, and this promise is fulfilled 700 years later when Jesus—the Prince of Peace—is born.

WEEK 3:
Love – Isaiah 11:1-3; John 1:1-18 
God loves His people and promises to send a Savior to rescue them. Jesus—God’s Son—is the promised Savior. God sent Jesus because He loves us! 

WEEK 4: 
Joy – Luke 2:1-21  
After many years of waiting, a Savior is born. His name is Jesus, and He brings joy to the world! 

WEEK 5:
Jesus Will Return – John 14 
Like God’s people long ago, we wait for the arrival of Jesus. However, we wait for Jesus’ second coming and have the Holy Spirit with us as we wait. Jesus will return, and one day we will see Him face to face!
