POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  • Every room should have AT LEAST two volunteers present at all times. Never be alone with a kid anytime, anywhere.

  • Bathroom runs are to be done in accordance with the age-appropriate policy. Remember, as with any other time, no one should ever be alone with a kid.

    • Infants:

      • Must be changed on the changing tables provided in the room, by women 18 years and over, with at least three persons present.

    • Toddler and Preschool

      • Must be changed on the changing tables provided in the room, by women 18 years and over, with at least two persons present.

      • Toddlers and Preschoolers that need to use the restroom must be taken in the presence of at least three persons. Women 18 years and over may only enter the bathroom when help is needed and in the presence of the three persons mentioned.

    • Elementary

      • May be taken to the restroom in the presence of three persons (children/adult). Never enter the restroom. If assistance is needed, call a staff member.

  • Immediately report ANY issue to Shepherd Kids Staff. Remember, it is always better to report when not necessary than not report and have it end up having been reportable.

    • Reportable instances include but are not limited to: suspected mental, emotional, physical, or sexual abuse, neglect, inappropriate behavior, odd behavior, difficult home or school circumstances, bullying, altercations between kids (even if minor in nature), disrespect, etc.

  • Wear your Shepherd Kids shirt and badge when serving!

    • If you are not able to wear an SK shirt, please wear a covering top that is not excessively low or showing your stomach. Shorts and skirts should be at fingertip length. Clothing should not be see-through or excessively tight. All clothing should be free of offensive or questionable pictures or messages. We want kids, parents, and volunteers focused on Jesus while they are here, not what we’re wearing.
